This program has a clear focus on health management and health economics and provides students with a comprehensive understanding of health care systems. It will be shown how the different sectors of the health care system are characterized and which challenges exist. Students learn to apply managerial knowledge and methodical competence on health care system related problems.
Structure and Content
The program usually takes four semesters and consists of core modules, elective modules according to personal interest and a master's thesis written in the fourth semester.
Whereas the core modules provide a comprehensive overview of health management and health economics, the elective modules allow a specialization in e.g. pharmaceutical industry, hospital management, health economics or health services research.
Career Aims
- Positions in all sectors of the health care system, e.g. controlling in hospitals, manager in outpatient care, strategic planning in pharmaceutical industry or medical technology industry etc.
- Academic career in research facilities e.g. universities, scientific institutes of national health insurance scheme etc.
Target Group
Graduates with a bachelor degree in business and /or economics from a university or a university of applied sciences who are interested in health management and health economics.
