The program covers subjects from business and socioeconomics. The central focus of this program is on acquiring the empirical, methodological and theoretical skills required for creative and advisory work in the field of business and administration. Particular emphasis is put on the collection, evaluation and interpretation of empirical data.

Structure and Content

Students are first introduced to the theoretical and empirical foundations of the subject. Building upon these foundations, students choose a combination of courses covering empirical research and in depth theory in economics and the social sciences, which can be selected according to personal interests and individual career aims. The final component of the program is a master’s thesis written during the fourth semester.

Career Aims

Work in business and administration which requires the application of empirical methods in combination with high-level analytical skills, for example, in social and economic planning, for empirical social and market research and opinion polling, media work, human resource and business development, continuing professional and adult education, or business consulting.

Target Group

Graduates with a bachelor’s degree in business or socioeconomics from a university or a university of applied sciences. Applicants should have basic knowledge in social science, economics and empirical methods/statistics.

Language of instruction

Application

Application for winter term 2013/2014 ends on 31.05.2013. You have to apply online first via move in and then submit your application to the Masterbüro (MA Office).
In case you want to take part in a German language course before starting your degree, please fill in the Application for admission form and send it to the Masterbüro.

  • Evidence for language skills in English
  • Evidence for language skills in German (e.g. TestDaf4 or DHS2)
  • Work sample (10-30 pages) concerning a topic related to the master program

Foreign certificates which are not issued in German, English or French must be submitted with a translation (each documentas officially certified copy).
